Prepare to Relax ...
During each treatment, once you've removed your shoes and socks and I've got you comfortable on the couch, I put on some gentle music, snuggle you up in a soft blanket and you can completely relax. After refreshing your feet with hot cotton cloths, I apply some organic foot balm and gently warm up your feet and ankles. For the main part of your treatment I work the reflex points on your feet, using precise pressure techniques, identifying and soothing any areas which are out of balance. Occasionally, there will be areas, especially those that are out of balance that will be a bit tender or uncomfortable but mostly the experience will be enjoyable and relaxing. To complete your session I will massage your ankles and lower legs to provide deep relaxation (so if possible, wear some loose trousers that I can roll up)!
Once your reflexology session has finished you can relax a little, while I answer any questions you may have. Sometimes I may give you some practical homework such as ways to incorporate more movement into your daily life or simply encourage you to take more time out for yourself! I may show you some hand reflex points that you can use at home.
Prior to meeting with you, I will need to complete a consultation which will include your medical history. Often this is carried out over the phone, (the day before your treatment). This will allow me to assess your health and needs and fully understand what you hope to gain from reflexology. All information will be kept confidentially and in line with my GDPR policy.
As holistic practitioners, reflexologists are there to support you as a whole person and promote your wellbeing.
Reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or claim to cure.
We are all unique and so it is not possible to know in advance how you will react to treatment. However, people often do feel very relaxed, may sleep better and notice a feeling of improved mood and general well-being. You may find that other things improve too!
